Around the World
Can your school show your support to Forget Me Not Children's Hospice this Children's Hospice Week and help us to make it Around the World?
Our Around the World challenge is a fun and active way for schools and children's clubs to support their local children's hospice during Children’s Hospice Week (22-28 May).
We are asking each child to do a sponsored one or two mile walk, run, skip or dance during this week, with the hope of enough children joining in across West Yorkshire to cumulatively travel enough miles to make it around the world (that's around 24,900 miles!)
A chance to get active, have fun and support local children with life shortening conditions and their families all at the same time.
If this sounds like something your school would like to get involved in please email our fundraising team at email@example.com or call 01484 411040.
Thank you for your time and we hope you can join us travelling Around the World this May.
What is the challenge?
We are challenging pupils to travel 1 mile (Primary) or 2 miles (Secondary) as part of our ‘Around the World’ challenge.
The circumference of the Earth is approx. 24,900 miles so by our calculations, collectively, we can travel ‘Around the World’…and maybe more, whilst helping to promote and embed your schools healthy living and having fun learning.
Whether running, walking, skipping, jumping or by wheelchair – our vision is twofold: to inspire pupils of every age and physical ability to play a part and raise vital funds and awareness for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
What do we need to do?
The challenge can be carried out during PE lessons or as a whole school event, during or after school (bespoke to what works for you); Pennine Sports Partnership will assist with the planning of this. Please note schools that aren’t currently part of the partnership can still take part but will need to plan the challenge independently.
When can we do it?
The challenge will take place the week commencing Monday 22nd May 2017, during Children’s Hospice Week. If you are unable to commit to this week but would still like to be involved, there is no reason why your challenge cannot be rescheduled to a different week.
How much do we have to fundraise?
This is entirely up to each individual!
We will be sending out sponsorship packs closer to the time and we simply ask that everyone tries to raise as much as they possibly can! Whether a pupil raises £1 or £100, we are extremely grateful for the support of our community and the engagement of your school.
