Ryan’s Sunday Blog

Good afternoon everyone, hope you are having a great weekend! My name is Ryan and I’m currently on my placement year from the University of Huddersfield, and I’ve been fortunate enough to get a placement with the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice!

In the upcoming weeks and months, I will be using this blog as a way to communicate with all of our fantastic supporters, talking about what’s going on at the hospice this week, exciting news and anything else which may be floating around in my mind!

I’ve been working a the hospice for just short of two months now, but it already feels like I’ve been here for two years! The staff here are fantastic, I’ve never been in an environment whereby there is such a drive to succeed. It really is a  privilege to work for such a worthy cause, and hopefully through this blog I will be able to transfer some of this enthusiasm the staff, volunteers and supporters have to anyone who is reading this!

If you have any views on the charity that you would like to share, or any stories you would like to tell, please  feel free to comment below, after all, it is your support that helps keep us going, and your views really are important to us!

The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice has already shown me that a hospice is more about the celebration of life than it is about death, and throughout my time at the charity i have been humbled by the support of the community, and the strength of the ordinary families who are going through extra-ordinary circumstances.

Thank you for taking the time out to read my first blog entry, and hopefully you will come back for more in the weeks to come, but now it is time for me to sign off, ejoy the rest of my Sunday and get ready for another exciting week come Monday morning!
