Sir Caspian Delamere is a man on a mission, to find the finest Fish and Chips in Britain. He’s narrowed it down to two seaside vendors – finalists for his GOLDEN FISH-FORK award.
By coincidence The Pickled Egg and The Silver Darling are rival establishments run by twins, Roderick and Annette Whale.
Unable to agree on the best way to cook this iconic dish, they went their separate ways years ago, and now they find their food and their philosophies in direct competition for the coveted GOLDEN FISH-FORK.
Which portion will prevail? Rod’s old fashioned, homely style? Or Nettie’s high-tech twist on tradition?
Their story is covered by unscrupulous journalist, Meriel Hacker, and she is after a scoop. So what will she do when she hooks a much bigger fish than she ever expected…?
Set sail with Mikron for a savoury tale about the British National Dish.
Hot, salty and wrapped in newspaper!

On Thursday 23rd April at John Smiths Stadium Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is facilitating the first ever parents conference across the whole of Yorkshire for children and families with life shortening conditions.
We are joining forces with Martin House and Bluebell Wood children’s hospices to mobilise and promote the event. The event will take place between 9.30am and 3pm. It is open to all families across Yorkshire who could benefit from the support of other parents that face the same extraordinary challenges of having a child with a life shortening condition.
Four parents who are supported by us have designed the content for the conference and will also be welcoming other parents to the event. The conference will focus on information that has real value to parents including self-help tips, financial advice and an opportunity to pose the questions important to them to a panel of healthcare professionals.
The conference was an idea put forward by our Nurse Consultant, Liz Lyles who shared her thoughts on the event “Typically parents are invited to attend events, alongside consultants and doctors, events that perhaps don’t put the needs of the families first. I wanted to give parents the opportunity to have a conference which was specific to their needs as a parent caring for a child with a life shortening condition, it will hope to cover exactly what the parents want to discuss and give other parents the information they really need.
“This will be our first ever parents conference and we hope that it will benefit families who are already using children’s hospices, those families who may choose to use a hospice in the future or any family effected across Yorkshire whose child is living with a life limiting condition”
Sidhil Ltd is the proud sponsor of the event, Clive Siddall Director of Sidhil Ltd commented on his company’s support “Sidhil Ltd is delighted and very proud to be sponsoring the Forget Me Not Parents conference 2015. As a manufacturer and supplier of healthcare furniture and equipment we frequently sponsor care related and clinical conferences. With Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice being our nominated charity for this year we are helping them out wherever we can and holding many events which will raise sufficient money to ‘fund a day‘”
