Care Volunteer Coordinator - Volunteering

  • Location: Russell House, Fell Greave Road, Huddersfield, HD2 1NH

Where will I be based?

The role is based at our hospice in Huddersfield, Russell House. 

Who will show me what to do?

A Care Team Member will show you the ropes, ensuring we get the most out of your valuable time.

What will I be doing?

The successful volunteer will be responsible for coordinating other volunteers who support our Care Team with events, support groups and volunteer drivers. Dealing with volunteer rotas 4 weeks in advance to ensure we get the most out of our care volunteers.  

How many hours will I volunteer?

Ideally you will be able to donate a minimum of 4 hours per week or a full day a week. We ask you’re able to commit to at least 12 months for this volunteering role, due to the training and duties of this role.

Do I need any skills/experience?

For this role you will need;

  • Organised, reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to deal with volunteers
  • Computer literate and ability to deal with queries

You will be required to undergo a DBS check and provide 2 references if successful with this volunteering role.

All our volunteers are encouraged to attend training and volunteer meetings whenever possible.

As a volunteer you will be a representative of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. As such we expect you to be well presented, polite and to give a positive message about the work of the charity.
