A promise kept means a better Christmas for some very special families

The awe-inspiring support of the local community has meant we’ve smashed our initial fundraising target of £60,000. This has allowed us to employ our first 4 nurses and start caring for children and families through our Hospice at Home service. This means we will go into families’ homes and provide much needed planned and emergency respite in what are often difficult, exhausting and emotional circumstances. Whilst we’re busy reaching as many families as possible in the community, we are also working hard to make sure the facilities at Grace’s Place itself are perfect for visiting children and their families so that we can open the hospice fully in mid 2018 – as promised.

To do that, we’re ramping up our fundraising efforts with a packed calendar next year. Giving you plenty of ways to get involved, plenty of ways to make a hugely positive difference to the children and families who so desperately need our help.

Here’s just a teensy-tiny selection:

  • We’re opening two new charity shops, in Rochdale and Royton, early doors 2018, with more on their way. So when you have that post-Christmas declutter, don’t forget to save all your good quality stuff for us! And if you can spare a few hours a week and would love to help customers make the most of our shops, we’d love to hear from you.
  • For a miniscule 99p a day local businesses can join our 99ers club with all the networking opportunities that brings, or you could ditch the desk or fund one of our amazing nurses.
  • Schools and colleges, scout & guides groups and after-school clubs can walk, skip, hop or jump their way around the world to raise money for the charity.
  • Community, voluntary and faith-based groups can raise money for Forget Me Not in a myriad of ways, from fun runs to bake sales, coffee mornings to raffles.

Got lots of ideas but not sure how to make them happen? Our friendly fundraisers can help you to develop your ideas, plan your event and raise as much money as possible.
