Ta-Daaa! Grace’s Place is now open!

We’re already helping families in their own homes in Bury, Rochdale and Oldham. Now, delivering on the promise we made when we first took on Grace’s Place in 2017, we can also support them within our hospice. Which means families who have previously had to travel long distances to get the care and support they need – or struggle on alone – now have somewhere on their doorstep that can take very good care of them and their child.

Over the last year the building has been transformed to make sure families feel comfortable here – we’ve got children’s and family bedrooms, a toy-filled play area and space for mums and dads to relax. We’ve also got a state-of-the-art sensory room – fantastic for children to develop their motor and communication skills – or just to chill out in. And a Snowflake Room, a private and peaceful room where bereaved families can spend time together and say their last goodbyes.

None of which would have been possible without the support of our local community. A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered, fundraised, attended an event or even just shared a post on our Facebook page! It all helps!

But, of course, this is where the hard work really begins. More than 650 children in Bury, Oldham and Rochdale are living with life-shortening conditions. Which means there are hundreds more mums, dads, brothers and sisters who are also dealing with the day to day challenges this brings. More than ever, we need the whole community to help us raise the funds that will enable us to support them. Put simply, we can only do what we do with your help!
