Visit either the historic Roman city of Bath or the splendid cathedral city of Salisbury.
Join us this May on our train to two South West cities. Our trip will give you the opportunity to visit either the historic Roman city of Bath or the splendid cathedral city of Salisbury.
If you opt to alight at Bath, you will find the station is but a stone’s throw from the city centre, known for its Roman springs and Georgian architecture. Bath Abbey is another noted attraction, famous for its fan-vaulting, impressive tower and large stained-glass windows. The Roman Baths are a must-see destination, including The Great Bath, statues and a temple. You will have just over 5 hours to explore Bath.
You can stay on the train, and continue a further 40 miles to the medieval city of Salisbury. The city is famous for its cathedral, which boasts the tallest spire in England.
Often called ‘The city in the countryside’, Salisbury is a fantastic city to explore. It is also one of the few cities to retain a copy of the Magna Carta. You call stroll along the historic alleyways, past charming half-timbered buildings and of course sample some of its many traditional inns!
