Help us spread the #MagicOfChristmas

Christmas is a very special time for our families. A time we want to make as magical as we can. Here are 12 festive ways you can help us make this Christmas even more special.

Delight friends and family with our Christmas cards or a gift from our seasonal range, available in our shops.

Last Christmas volunteers raised an amazing £15,000 with festive bag packs and bucket collections. Can you help us raise even more by lending us a hand for just a few hours? Here are all our Christmas volunteering opportunities. Call us on 01484 411 040 or email to take part!

Host a hamper

A great one for offices, pubs, hairdressers etc – host one of our Lottie Shaw hampers full of delicious goodies and run a sweepstake for who gets to take it home for Christmas. Call us on 01484 411 040 or email to order all the kit you need!

Donate to shops

Need to make room for all the presents you’re hoping for? Have a clear out and donate what you don’t want to our shops. And if you receive a gift that’s not right for you – we’ll find it a lovely new home! Find your nearest shop.

Hold a festive bake sale

Everyone loves a bake sale. So here’s a couple of classic Christmas recipes from our chef Terry to get you started. Don’t worry, we’ve plenty of fitness challenges planned for the New Year to help you burn off all those excess calories!

Run a Christmas quiz

In which city is Kevin left Home Alone first time round? When did Good King Wenceslas look out?* How good is your Christmas trivia knowledge? Host a Christmas quiz and find out!

Donate in lieu of cards

Rather than sending everyone in the office a Christmas card, why not make a donation instead? You can still share a Christmas message with your colleagues by writing it on our ‘bauble’ poster (you’ll understand when you see it!) Download it here.

Wear a Christmas jumper

You know what to do. On the 14th December (or whatever date works best for you) everyone comes to work in their sparkliest Christmas jumpers, for a small donation. Colleagues who don’t go full sparkle have to make a bigger donation!

Play our Christmas Raffle

Here’s an easy one – at just £1 a ticket, our Christmas Raffle is a great way to involve friends, family, workmates, your postie, butcher, baker and electrician! After all who would say no to the chance to win £1500? Tickets are available in our hospice receptions and all shops! Alternatively call us on 01484 411 040 or email for your tickets.

Make and sell reindeer food

Nobody’s getting presents if Santa’s reindeers are hungry. So why not get the kids to rustle up some tasty treats to sell to their friends at school – to keep those essential sleigh-pullers going! Here's some easy to follow instructions.

Rack up the miles to Lapland

Could your work colleagues or team mates join forces (or compete) to do a sponsored (static) cycle from here to Lapland? That’s 1350 miles as the crow flies from Russell House and 1365 from Grace’s Place. Download a sponsor form here and get going!

Sign up for Dry January

Continue the good work after Christmas too, by signing up to take part in Dry January. Help your liver – and us at the same time by drumming up sponsors! Download a sponsor form here and get going! And after all your hard work in January, you can celebrate at our Feb-Brewery Beer Festival!

Whatever you do, don’t forget to tell us what you’re up to. Use the hashtag #magicofchristmas and we’ll share your posts! And remember, whether you go big or small, every penny you raise goes towards making this Christmas, and beyond, magical for our children and families. And when you're done, simply send your donation to us either here on our website, over the phone (01484 411 040) or send a cheque made payable to Forget Me Not Children's Hospice.
