Come along to our open day on 13th April to come and see what an ‘outstanding’ children’s hospice looks like!
As well as guided tours of our purpose-built facility, you'll be able to meet staff and hear about the difference your support makes to families facing or living with the loss of their child across West Yorkshire. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about volunteering and career opportunities, upcoming events and challenges, and of course, have some tea and cake and buy some branded goods!
Kirsty Goddard, our registered manager, said, “We’re so proud to meet visitors, show them our amazing facilities and introduce them to our dedicated, brilliant staff team. But we think our visitors and all our supporters should be proud too, because we couldn’t be here without them- Russell House opened its doors in 2012 thanks to their generous donations. And the reason we can continue to offer the outstanding care we have been recognised for is entirely down to our supporters. This year we need to raise £5.5 million to run the hospice. Only a fraction of those funds come from the government or NHS, the rest is down to all the local people, groups, schools and businesses getting involved to fundraise, volunteer and support us. “
“So it’s a chance to say welcome and thank you. The work we do supporting babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families here and across West Yorkshire is very sensitive and private work so we can’t have people visiting us every day.
But our open day is one chance for people to come and see what a difference their support makes.”
All are welcome to our open day on 13th April anytime between 10am and 2pm and there's no need to book. Businesses, schools and groups wanting their own tour are invited to join us on 17th April - please email fundraising@forgetmenotchild.co.uk to book a time.
