End of life care

It can be a huge source of comfort and reassurance to know that you’re in experienced but gentle hands at this most difficult of times.

You’re not alone

It is devastating to be told that your child’s life is drawing to a close. Some families will have the time to plan and make decisions; for others, the end will be more sudden.

We’re determined that, whatever the circumstances, you won’t have to go through this alone. We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And both you and your child can expect kindness, professionalism and respect from us at all times.

How we can help

Advanced care planning

Our specialist team will work with you and your child to create an advanced care plan. This can help you make decisions in advance so you’re not forced to make them when you feel least able to do so.

Outstanding care for your child

We can support you in ensuring that the end of your child’s life is as comfortable and as happy (yes, happy) as possible. And we will monitor your child’s needs around the clock.

Outstanding support for you

We respect the fact that no one knows your child like you do, so we’ll do everything we can to ensure that your wishes, and your child’s wishes, are met.

Supporting your choices

Whether you’re at the hospital, at our hospice or in your own home, we’re here to support your choice of where and how your child will spend their last moments.

Making the most of your time together

The remaining time you have with your child is extremely precious, and we’ll help you make the most of it, perhaps by doing something special together or creating memory boxes.

Ongoing support

After the death of a child, our support continues. Your whole family will be able to access our bereavement support and counselling, for example.

Get the support your family needs

We’ve made it easy to find out whether your family is eligible for our care and what support is available to you. And it’s easy to refer your family to us, when you’re ready.

Forget Me Not provided end of life care during Jacob’s final days and the whole family stayed at the hospice to say their last goodbyes. “The care Forget Me Not gave not just Jacob, but myself, his dad and his sisters meant so much. We made so many more memories in those final days. During our stay, we laughed so much and Jacob had the best people looking after him.
