Step down care

Leaving hospital after a long stay or a health crisis can be daunting. We can help your child and family make the transition back home.

Getting ready to go home

Our step down care is for children and families, who are already receiving our help, after a stay in hospital.

We’re here to give you the time you need to get to grips with any changes in medication or new equipment that your child needs. Our experienced team will support you so that when you take your child home, you’ll be confident and comfortable with the new routine.

How we can help

Reducing the length of a hospital stay

Step down care means hospitals can discharge the child to us when they are medically fit but before you are ready to handle any changes to their care.

Building your confidence

The time you need to get your head around the changes to your child’s care in a more homely environment knowing that our expert team is on hand to advise and help.

Expertise at your fingertips

As well as nurses and clinical co-ordinators, our team includes a paediatrician, physiotherapist, pharmacy and advanced nurse practitioners.

Get some rest

Chances are you’ve not had much rest while your child has been in hospital. You can stay in one of our luxury family suites to catch up on some sleep.

Get the support your family needs

We’ve made it easy to find out whether your family is eligible for our care and what support is available to you. And it’s easy to refer your family to us, when you’re ready.
