We’re here for the whole family, providing dedicated support for parents, siblings and grandparents, including practical and emotional support, counselling and therapy.
How we can help
A multi-skilled team
Our multi-disciplinary family support team is made up of support workers, therapists, bereavement support practitioners and counsellors.
Supporting the whole family
Everyone is affected when a child has a life-shortening condition or has sadly died. So we provide support to the whole family: parents, brothers and sisters and grandparents.
The right support at the right time
We offer different levels of support depending on what your family needs, from practical and emotional support to more structured counselling sessions.
Supporting all communities
More than half our families are from ethnic minority communities – our support is tailored to meet cultural needs and beliefs and we provide translation services.
Getting creative
Children don’t always have the words to express their experiences and feelings. Creative therapy (e.g. music, play, art, drama etc) gives them a means to do that in whatever way suits them.
Signposting you to more help
We know we can’t help you with everything you face, but we will always do our utmost to help you find what you need by signposting you to other services or support.
Spending time with other people who share similar experiences to you can be incredibly helpful. We run a range of regular support groups so you can meet and talk to other families.
We’re on hand to help siblings understand and deal with their emotions and cope with the challenges they’re facing – and to have fun with other children.
There may come a point where you need more structured counselling. Our 1-2-1 counselling sessions offer a confidential place to talk and explore feelings without fear of judgment.
