Day care & short breaks

Expert care of your child, while you get a well-deserved break.

Giving everyone a break

We understand how overwhelming, challenging and downright exhausting it is caring for a child with a chronic, complex health condition. It can feel like you’re running on empty, all the time. Well, let us help.

Our specialist nursing team is here to care for your child while you take some well-deserved time to recharge your batteries. That could be during the day, overnight or for a weekend.

How we can help

Seeing the child, not just their condition

Families tell us they trust us to look after their child, because we know them almost as well as they do – not just their condition but their likes, dislikes, quirks and routines.

Making them feel at home

We’ll make sure that when your child stays with us, they’re surrounded by the things that make them feel at home – favourite toys or posters, their own bedding etc.

Getting to know your child

We’ll take our time to find out what makes your child happy, and what they love doing. We’ll find out what food and clothes they like, and how they like to wear their hair

Creating special memories

It’s not just clinical care we provide, but play, music and art sessions and fun day trips, giving children the chance to make special memories.

You can stay too!

Not ready to let your child out of your sight? We understand and invite you to stay here too, in one of our luxury family suites.

Get the support your family needs

We’ve made it easy to find out whether your family is eligible for our care and what support is available to you. And it’s easy to refer your family to us, when you’re ready.

The overnight stays at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice are our light at the end of the tunnel.  When we turn into the driveway at Russell House, I subconsciously breathe out a sigh of relief.  It feels like coming home.
