Bags and bags of support for our first Day to Donate!

Our Day to Donate was about encouraging people to have a bit of a clear out for a very worthwhile cause. And boy, did you do that!

In total, we received an incredible 915 bags full of your unwanted clothes, bric-a-brac, toys and accessories. With each bag worth around £25, that means the day generated an estimated £22,875 worth of stock to sell in our shops. And, because many of you are registered gift-aiders, we raised an extra £2,118.75 in gift aid!

A huge thanks to everyone from across the community who sorted through their stuff and brought their bags to one of our shops, donation stations or took part in their workplace’s day to donate.

Special thanks to the volunteers who helped us out before, during and after the day and to Arrow Self Drive who lent us three vans for us to use to move donations to our sorting facility – so we can get them back out and into our shops to sell as quickly as possible.

Thanks too to the local businesses and organisations who hosted their own corporate Day to Donate, or acted as extra donation stations on the day: Dean Clough, Lloyds Bank, Mamas & Papas HQ, Fighting Fit Studio, ASDA Dewsbury, Baitul Atta Mosque and Kirklees Active Leisure contributed a whopping 217 bags to our total, worth around £5,500 to our shops.

If you missed our Day to Donate, then don’t worry – you can still drop off your donations all year round in any of our 14 shops. If you’re a business, why not request a donation wheelie bin to make it really easy for your staff and colleagues to donate their unwanted items?
