“Best day ever!” Things get colourful at our amazing Colour Run Festival
What an utterly amazing day we had on Saturday at our Colour Run Festival in Farnley Tyas! A brilliant atmosphere, gorgeous weather, a great team of staff and volunteers making sure the day ran smoothly, and fantastic corporate sponsors getting everyone properly colourful!
And what was really magical was seeing so many Huddersfield families joining us for such a colourful and fun day out and showing their support for the families we care for.
In fact, over 750 people got showered in a rainbow of colour as they ran, walked, jogged or piggy-backed their way round the 4km course.
Many of the participants looked pretty colourful before the run even started too, with tutus, wigs, and unicorn horns being the order of the day!
After a moving speech from one of the mums we support, participants set off under a cloudless sky – apart from the huge cloud of purple pluming out from the starting line colour cannon!
At sponsored colour stations dotted around the course, coloured powder was thrown enthusiastically at race-goers by volunteers and supporters of the charity.
So that, by the end of the course, everyone looked like they’d run through a rainbow!
But the fun didn’t stop once the Colour Run was done. Musical entertainment was provided by Pulse Radio and local bands Klonk and Black Gravy. And there was plenty of food available too from the likes of Tin Box Pizza, Greedy Pig and RoadBloc.
We’ve had loads of great feedback from those who came along to the event – from “Best day ever!” to “Thank you so much for an absolutely brilliant colour run today! Utterly inspired by the beautiful words shared by the Forget-me-not family at the start” and “Huge appreciation to the teams that have made today the success that it clearly was!”
Thank you so much to all the Colour Runners for making it such a brilliant day and raising money for our families.
