Gareth’s blog: One year on – thank you for standing with us
This time last year, we were facing some of the toughest challenges in our history at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice. Uncertainty loomed large. We had to rethink how we cared for children and families, how we used our resources and how we could keep going when everything felt so fragile.
But then something amazing happened. You stood with us.
Something amazing happened. You stood with us.
You didn’t just support us – you became part of our story. Businesses raced across West Yorkshire to raise vital funds. Families and friends got colourful at our Colour Run, filling the day with joy and laughter. Adventurers pushed themselves to the limit – skydiving, running marathons, and conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks – all for the children who need us most.
People donated and fundraised or played our lottery. Volunteers gave their time and energy in our shops, at the hospice and at events. Creative folks baked, crafted, knitted and sewed, selling their creations to make a difference. Schools fell silent as part of our Big Sshh challenge, inspiring the next generation to get involved. Families bravely shared their stories, showing the real impact of your generosity. And every like, share, and comment on social media helped us reach even more people who care.
Together, you’ve helped us adapt, innovate and keep fighting for every child and family who needs us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by us, believing in what we do and making sure no family faces the unimaginable alone.
Here’s to another year of standing together as a community to care for local children and families. Thank you.
