As CEO of Forget Me Not children’s hospice, I am constantly inspired by the generosity and kindness of our supporters. And every day, I see the immeasurable difference that this generosity makes to the children and families we support. Families have told us that without Forget Me Not, they would have had nowhere to turn, and without us, they simply would not have received the support that they needed in their darkest hour.
That’s why, I have one task that never moves from the top of my priority list – to make sure that this charity is here for children and families who need our help not just today, but tomorrow and into the future too.
Right now though, hospices across the UK are facing an uncertain future. Funding challenges mean that without action, the essential care that we provide could be at risk. But together, we can change that.
You have the power to ensure that no family has to face the loss of their child alone
The current funding model for hospices, and in particular children’s hospices is simply not adequate. Many people assume that we receive lots of support from the government or the NHS, but the reality at Forget Me Not is that only 10% of our funding is from statutory sources. For the other 90%, we rely on the generosity of our local community to sustain the vital services that so many children and families rely on.
You can use your voice to help us push for a better long-term, sustainable funding model for children’s hospice care.

By simply sending a letter or email to your local MP, you can encourage them to use their influence in parliament. If enough people speak up, together we can make sure that the vital support that we, and other hospices, provide to our local community is protected.

It only takes a few minutes, but the impact could last for generations.
