New Charity SUPERSTORE Opens in Huddersfield

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is thrilled to announce the opening of their brand new charity SUPERSTORE on Manchester Road in Huddersfield. The former cinema is now one of the largest charity shops in the area, with over 4,500 square feet of shop floor. Make sure you pop in to check out the store’s selection of reasonably priced furniture, household goods, clothing, accessories, toys, music, books and much much more!

Thanks to ample parking at the rear of the building, supporters can now easily drop off their donations of unwanted quality goods. The hospice also offers a furniture delivery, collection and house clearance service. Enquire at the store or call 01484 430099 if you would like more details about these services.

The opening of the new store means that a variety of new volunteer opportunities have been created ranging from processing of donations, serving customers and driving vans. Forget Me Not relies heavily on the goodwill of their army of volunteers to keep their stores going, so if you think you could offer some of your time then please pop into the store to discuss the opportunities available.

Gareth Piece, Head of Trading at Forget Me Not explained “We’re very excited about our new Superstore, not least because we now have a central hub for receiving and distributing donations, but quite simply a shop of this size will be a great income generator for us and a huge step forward in our mission to reach more children and families who need us.”

Forget Me Not will be holding the official Grand Opening on Saturday 13th May from 11am which will give locals the chance to check out the store and grab a bargain. There will be lots of fun things going on for the whole family including a storytelling corner for children, an upcycling stall to help you spruce up any old furniture, cakes and refreshments, a tombola and lots of bargains. We are delighted to announce that the store will be officially opened by 19 month old Taneisha and her family. Taneisha has a complex heart disease, which means she requires regular heart surgery and has to spend a lot of time in hospital. Forget Me Not has supported Teneisha and her family from pregnancy and continues to support them now through baby groups at the hospice and providing respite at home.
