Our Peggy wins well-deserved Volunteer of the Year award

Peggy has volunteered tirelessly to support us since our early days. Now 81, she continues to make a huge contribution to the work we do. During that time she’s helped raise well over £12,000 from her famous tombolas, placing and collecting donation tubs across Calderdale, selling Forget Me Not merchandise and holding stalls at events. And in doing so has made a massive difference to the children and families we care for.

Not just that, but she’s also an integral part of our Forget Me Not family. She’s poured teas and coffees for visitors at our open days, helps the fundraising team with research every week and has done much to spread awareness of Forget Me Not and inspire others to support us.

We already know just how amazing Peggy is! But it’s brilliant that her hard work, tireless commitment and passion for the work that Forget Me Not does has been publicly recognised with this award. What better way to celebrate her 10th anniversary!

Well done, Peggy!

If you’ve been inspired by Peggy and are interested in finding out how you could volunteer for us, we’re holding an information evening in Honley on 5th December. Come along for a mince pie and a sherry, meet some of our lovely volunteers and supporters and hear more about all the ways you could join them.

If you can’t wait that long – all our current volunteering roles and opportunities can be found here.
