Russell House turns pink and blue for Baby Loss Awareness Week

Very sadly, the lives of babies we were remembering were far too brief. But all of them shine brightly in their families’ memories. 

And for many of these families, Russell House is where they were able to make those precious memories. Where they were able to do the things they’d been dreaming of doing – like holding their baby, brushing their hair, reading them a story, taking them outside to show them the world. 

That’s why, we wanted to light up Russell House in their memory – to show families we’re thinking of them and to shine a light on baby loss, something not often talked about but that affects more than 150 families in West Yorkshire every year. 


Thank you to the local landmarks that joined us by lighting up in pink and blue – the University of Huddersfield, Piece Hall, Salts Mill, Bradford Town Hall, Wainhouse Tower, Kirklees Active Leisure Centre. Thanks too to Décor Event Equipment Hire for helping us light up Russell House and to Mark Flynn Photography for capturing the evening so beautifully. And thanks to everyone who lit their own light at home in memory or in support of others who have lost a baby.
