Slam dunk! Basketball challenge raises £2,000!

In a bid to score 1000 baskets in just 6 hours, RRG Huddersfield Toyota transformed their forecourt into a basketball court and invited staff, sponsors and customers to take part in their innovative challenge.

Hosted by comedian Steve Royle who kept the crowd entertained throughout the day with his basketball tricks, it was a real family fun day, with stalls, food, live music and other activities like a penalty shoot out, golf putt competition and tombola.

And thanks to everyone who took part in the charity basketball challenge, they reached their target of 1000 shots with just half an hour to spare! And, in doing so, raised a fantastic £2,000 for us.

Clive Mattimoe, RRG Huddersfield Centre Principal, said “The team always try to be innovative with the charity fundraising events we hold and this year has been no different. Our Basketball Challenge saw many staff, sponsors and customers come together and we were delighted to have achieved our goal!”

Louise Addison, one of our regional fundraisers, said: “this year, RRG Huddersfield took it to another level! Their 1,000 basketball challenge was completely different to anything anyone has ever done to fundraise for us and the tremendous effort of the RRG team made this unique event a fantastic family fun day out.”
