What happens when 433 princesses get together? Smash a world record, that’s what!

Our patron is a princess and we do love to bring a touch of magic to families’ lives…

So what better way to raise awareness of our children’s hospice than by trying to break the Guinness World Record for the most princesses in one place at one time?

And that’s what we did. We put out a call for princesses all over the realm to gather together at Trinity Walk shopping centre, Wakefield, on Sunday 6 August 2017.

They came from all over, in their finest regalia – from cute little toddlers to chaps measuring well over 6 feet tall. What a display of fairy-tale gowns, tiaras and gloves!

Princess Jasmine from Theatre Royal Wakefield was there to greet them, as were Belle from Beauty and the Beast and ice queen Elsa. They were joined by volunteers from Forget Me Not while Dance Xplosion entertained the crowds. The fun included free face-painting, glitter tattoos and balloon-modelling.

And we absolutely smashed it: a whopping 433 were officially counted, beating the previous record of 419 princesses together in one place.

Thanks to everyone involved for helping more people find out about Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
