Many people choose to forego flowers or gifts, and instead ask their friends and family to make a donation towards our work.
At milestone moments in life, such as the death of a loved one, a wedding, anniversary or birthday, people who support our work will often ask for donations for us instead of flowers or other gifts. This is particularly poignant when the funeral is of someone known to us at Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
This extraordinary generosity helps to make sure that children and families will continue to benefit from what we do here. We care for around 260 children and their families, but that only represents about 15% of all the children in our area who need our services. By donating in this way, you could help us reach even more children in need.
How it works
Instead of flowers – You could collect donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral or memorial service. Let us know in advance and we can supply the collection envelopes to make it easy for you. We’ll also let you know how much you raised, and thank you for your donation.
Instead of gifts – Many people ask their families and friends not to give Christmas, birthday, wedding or anniversary presents, but ask for donations to our children’s hospice instead. It’s a wonderfully life-affirming thing to do at an important moment in your own life.
